End of One Life, Start of a New One [Tachigaru Only]

Fumiko sat on the remains of the Tsuchikage’s office with a look of utter content plastered onto her face. The assault on the village had gone splendidly despite the large shinobi presence. The actions taken by a very paranoid Tsuchikage had ultimately sealed the fate of the village, the shinobi had become rusty and inexperienced since the village went under lock and key several years ago. They did not know rather to escort villagers to safety or fight the invaders and with a severe lack in leadership, confusion wreaked havoc on their responsiveness. It did not help that there were traitors among those ranks and by the time people realized, it was beyond too late.
It was entirely too easy to decimate one of the major villages, however, Fumiko was well aware that the ease was the result of cards falling in Tachigaru’s favor. Such luck would not rear its head again. The destruction of Iwa bred survivors who fled to the other nations and no doubt the refugees would put the remaining four villages on high alert. It was simply natural now that a force strong enough to challenge the villages entered the stage. How long it would take for them to succumb to the frightening new force remained to be seen.
Fumiko, on the other hand, was simply happy to no longer be tied down to such a village. She could return home for her next assignment or roam freely until called upon. She did not doubt that Iwa would eventually rise again. Some idealists would ensure that the village clawed itself from the rumble it was left in. Yet, once again, she could not begin to imagine how long it would take for someone to build up the courage and following necessary for such a large undertaking. Thus, a huge power vacuum would remain where Iwa once stood for a while.
For now, she was content on simply relaxing while she waited to be retrieved.

Today, Ahmya could feel her Lord smiling down at her, as she walked through what remained of Iwagakure. The bodies of shinobi and civilian alike under the sheer destruction, their souls forever one with her god, finally free of the intrinsic suffering that came with living to enjoy eternity in peace. Their plan had been executed flawlessly, the few unfortunate survivors currently expiring under the rubble of their city or fleeing. 'Tachigaru' had proven it's worth at the very least as a talented bunch.
As she made her way through this new tomb, her goal to check up on the dear former Tsuchikage's office and ensure that the biggest threat had already been taken care of. The last thing she needed was someone meddling further, particularly someone that powerful. Though as she found the office tatters, though one of the few buildings still properly standing. It made sense that this building would be particularly hardy, even if it was only home to ghosts now.
At least, that is what she thought as a survivor would burst free from the shadows in the office. He was broken, covered in dust and freshly opened wounds, but still ready to fight it seemed as he flashed forward with the utmost speed at the first thing he saw. With his one good arm, he thrust his tanto blade through the woman's chest, aiming for the heart. Though instead of what he had hoped would be a pained scream, he found only laughter.
"My my, aren't you daring" Her hand moved up to grasp his wrist, steely grip making it impossible to pull away as she turned the blade, bringing about an ecstasy that no other could experience and live to tell the tale. The man stood in shock as she drew the blade free, to let free a flood of crimson. Only to twist his hand with a sickening snap as she turned the weapon upon it's owner. "Let us experience this together, your final moments" Before he could respond, in shock from the pain, she drew him into an embrace to bury the steel into his flesh.
It seemed like an eternity, but his breathing quickly faded and he fell limp. Cast aside to join the others. This spectacle had only been seen by one, a jounin on the roof. "You there, come down here a moment" Blood red eyes focused on her new source of intrigue. Having played a smaller role in the intricacies of this plan, it was hard to tell who might have betrayed their people in the attack. Either way, the woman waited expectantly at the base of the building.

Fumiko could never understand the suicidal thoughts that crossed the minds of dying shinobi as they recklessly flung themselves into death’s sweet embrace. From her vantage point, she could not fathom why the shinobi hadn’t played dead. Certainly, it was a cowardly thing to do, but at least there was a small chance that he could limp away with his life intact. However, stupidity had overcome him and he struck at a woman who was obviously stronger than himself. She could only blame it on the isolation Iwa had faced, the same isolation that had caused many of the shinobi to grow soft in the head.
She watched as the life slowly seeped from his battered body, not a shred of sympathy entering her stone cold heart. And, like the trash he was, his body was discarded and quickly forgotten.
Fumiko’s cannot help raise an eyebrow as that woman’s attention turns to her. Since her life had been spent in the confines of Iwa, she could not sincerely say who bore allegiance to Tachigaru. However, common sense dictated that the woman below aligned herself with the organization that had decimated the village. Without further prompting, she descended from her perch to land near the woman.
Fear did not invade her senses, but excitement and curiosity certainly did. Thus, with a large grin on her face, she said:
“You rang?”

Ahmya smiled sweetly as the woman approached, an odd contrast with the would-be fatal chest wound that still seemed to be openly bleeding. Of course, if they were to inspect closer it was already beginning to heal before their eyes. "It must be quite the view from up there, I trust you were enjoying it" She crosses her arms behind her back to lean in slightly "Though I don't recognize you, did you defect before the attack? I couldn't help but notice you were not as eager as your comrade over there to die defending a dead city"
Tachigaru had been working independently so far, closer to a contractor or band of mercenaries than being truly under her control. Not that it mattered, the man who had been taking charge before was already well on his way to spreading Jashin's gift to the major shinobi villages, even if he didn't quite know it. "Your name, perhaps?" Throughout the short time they had been talking, the gaping wound had disappeared, leaving only drying blood in it's wake. "You may call me Ahmya" It was only polite, though this revelation wouldn't really provide further information of the raven haired woman's true identity. It didn't grace any bingo book, and to the shinobi world she might as well not exist.

Due to the initial difference in altitude, the gaping wound in the woman’s chest had totally been missed by the jounin. However, with the two on even ground, the otherwise life-ending injury did not escape her view. To her credit, she does not freak out because though the woman before her should be rightfully dead, she carried on as if she were completely fine. It truly was intriguing and caused Fumiko to wonder what convoluted pact the woman had made in order to brush off such injuries.
“Defection implies past loyalty, none of which truly existed between Iwa and I. And comrades, we were not though even if we had been, I cannot fathom purposely running into death’s cold and less than gentle embrace.”
Fumiko responds simply to the question. And her words rang true, at least, to herself. Though she played the part of the loyal jounin, she had always been far from it. Iwa had been nothing more than an assignment that, though fun at first, became a living nightmare. She thought she would die of boredom before she ever got to the end or, forsake her commitments to seek out thrills.
“Fumiko Okabe.”
She supplies in return. The woman’s name sounded woefully unfamiliar to her and though it had been several years since she cracked open a bingo book, something told her her endeavors would be in vain. Someone who casually talked as a wound quickly fixed itself up would be well-known even in Iwa despite its isolation.
“Pleasure to meet your strange, but welcomed acquaintance. I would provide a tour, but…”
She waved her hand lazily.
“I’m afraid nothing survived the attack. So, forgive the lack of hospitality.”

Ahmya had seen much worse in her time, in fact this particular ability was one of her biggest trump cards. Most went for the quick kill, and she was more than happy to leave an opening for them to exploit Countless shinobi had already fallen to this very trick, and she was sure that the number would continue to rise at things went on.
"I see, how interesting" She could only ponder as to why this woman held such contempt for her village, though considering how it had ended up she had clearly made the right choice. Though it was something to keep in mind for the future if this jounin was going to factor into her plans.
"Fumiko Okabe" She repeated her name, committing it to memory. Though not being recognized didn't seem to come as a surprise to the woman either. She had only recently surfaced after all, at least in this sort of capacity. "Of course, I'm sure there are more like him in the rubble... And as much I would like to help them pass there are more important things to deal with" She certainly had a way with words, how casually she spoke of killing the stragglers... though she did so with an odd sort of compassion. Like she was helping them.
"Hrm, I thought the others would have arrived by now" She looked around slowly, pondering where her mad bomber was primarily. He had been the one to so expertly bring about this widespread destruction after all. Chances were he was just enjoying the results of his work...

Ahmya was weird. A refreshing kind of weird, but weird nonetheless. Fumiko really wasn’t sure what to make of her. She had become accustomed to plain and boring. Iwa’s shinobi lost what mind their personality unique when the village closed its gates. Thus, it had been a while since she encountered anyone like the woman in front of her - though no one could hold a candle to her.
“They may have gotten lost. Hard to navigate a village when the whole landscape has changed.”
Fumiko said with a shrug.
“There are also some bodies that need to make their acquaintance with death. The perch up there could provide a wonderful view of the village.”
She continued, waving her hand in the direction of the building she had been sitting upon recently.
“I’d have a look up there if these friends are of any sincere importance.”
